Born in Tacoma, Washington, Ryan joined the Sole Sports team in January 2015. Ryan has two older brothers and a twin sister. Although he had asthma as a child, Ryan played many sports and in high school played soccer and baseball, along with wrestling, cross country and track. He even tried street luging for a short time.
Ryan’s running really began in the 6th grade when, after beating a friend in a school fun run, Ryan ran a quarter mile home to tell his dad, a runner himself. That Saturday morning, his dad woke him up to join him on his run and Ryan ran his first 3-miler. Ryan’s strength is in the shorter distances and he would someday like to run a sub- 4 minute mile and a 1:43, 800-meters.
After weighing different options for college, with the responsibilities of family, Ryan decided on ASU and received his bachelor’s degree in exercise science.
Outside of work, Ryan has many interests. He is an avid backpacker and hiker who loves to do anything outdoors. He also likes to work on cars and spend time with family, friends and Zoey, his giant schnauzer. A fun fact about Ryan that not many people know is that he enjoys trying different beers and to date has tried 166 in the past two years.
