Born in Dayton, Ohio, Kim’s parents packed up and moved to Arizona after a blizzard in 1978. She has no siblings and joined the Sole Sports team in June 2017. Growing up, softball was her sport of choice. In high school, having to choose between cross-country and band, she chose marching band and running on her own for fun.
Kim went to ASU, where she received a Fine Art degree in graphic design. After working in the design field for quite a few years, Kim decided to look for something less stressful and more fulfilling. That’s when she got into the running-specialty industry and she has been in that field now for over a decade.
A runner since her teens, Kim has run 9 marathons and countless half marathons, as well as other races including an Ironman, although she missed one of the bike cut-off times. She will readily tell you she loves the process of training for races, but hates the actual race. For her, running without knowing how fast or how far she has gone is just fine.
Two facts about Kim that not very many people know is she is the author of our Sole Sports blogs and she has been a Type 1 diabetic since the age of 14.
