Born and raised in California, with his two sisters, Richard became a member of the Sole Sports team in 2016. Richard always knew he could run fast, but he didn’t pursue the sport seriously until, at the age of 11, he didn’t see his name on the basketball team list he had tried out for. From that point on, cross-country and track became his sport of choice. Richard attended Central Arizona College and later transferred to LSU on a track scholarship. Knowing how important education is but wanting to see where running would take him, Richard made the hard decision to leave LSU and pursue a professional track career.
Richard made the 2012 Olympic Trials and he now has his sights set on the 2020 Trials, with the goal of an Olympic berth in Tokyo.
Outside of work and running, Richard’s second passion is anything automotive. He loves working on cars and enjoys working with his hands. A fact about Richard that not many people know is he always wanted to be an architect.
